Judy sat down ( just for a minute) recently to share a little about herself and all she loves!
  • Tell us about where you grew up and your education?

I spent most of my growing up in Richmond. Graduated from Douglas Freeman High School and Longwood Universityand started a masters degree in Preschool Education with UVA.
  • What career path did you have before joining TDC?

Taught Kindergarten at Collegiate Country Day School in Richmond and first grade in Virginia Beach.
When my children came along I became a full time mom and loved every minute of it-the parties, excursions, trips to local attractions, train trips to areas beyond Richmond, bike rides, ski trips, cooking lessons, fishing trips, holiday festivities, games and story time
Had my own catering business for 10 years when the kids got older then moved into Country Clubs-Richmond Country Club and Meadowbrook Country Club as Assistant Manager and Club House Manager then a job as the Manager of a Yacht Club.
  •  What has been your favorite position?

My favorite job has been Food and Beverage Director of TDC. Every thing is great from the staff to the members. Love the work, challenges, the hustle and bustle, and demands of the F&B business. Can’t wait to get to work in the morning because everyday is an adventure.
  •  In your down time, what do you enjoy?

If I have down time I like bicycling, roller blading, sailing, travel, cooking, hiking, and most recently ski diving.
  •  How do you manage to get done all you have to do, especially in the summer with the pool management added to your list?

You asked how I multitask and juggle all I do-I am a list maker.  I make a list at the beginning of each week of things I need to accomplish that week and then a list each day of what I have to finish before I can leave. It seems to work for me most of the time.
